Euroformula Open drivers explain Le Castellet races in their own words:

Felipe Drugovich (RP Motorsport): “What a weekend! 2 pole positions, 2 victories and 2 fastest laps! Extended the lead of the championship standings. Big thanks to RP Motorsport for our amazing car!”

Matheus Iorio (Carlin): “Great weekend for us at Paul Ricard finishing with two podiums. P2 and P3… Really grateful for all the involved ones who made this possible! Next one in one month at Spa, Belgium. Let’s keep working hard….”

Marcos Siebert (Campos Racing): “It was a weekend full of emotions! I topped the free practice session in wet on Friday. On Saturday, starting from P12, I fought to finish 8th. On Sunday it was another tight qualifying session and took 10th spot on the grid. Our pace was much better and we finished 6th, scoring valuable points for the championship, sitting 3rd at the moment. Now I’m looking forward to Spa-Francorchamps, one my favourite circuits!”

Cameron Das (Carlin): “While it was tough, I enjoyed this weekend at Paul Ricard. We had a variety of conditions in practice, but we were particularly good in the most treacherous ones. As always, I want to say a huge thanks to the team and to my sponsors who afforded me this opportunity and continue to support me.”

Guilherme Samaia (RP Motorsport): “Paul Ricard came to an end showing excellent progress and learning curve. We finished fourth in both races and fought for podium finishes. I’m pleased because I had another chance to keep improving. I wish to thank my family, friends, sponsors and RP Motorsport for their support.”

Alex Karkosik (Campos Racing): “We showed in France that we can fight for top positions. From the beginning I felt very good with my new team and driving the car. On Friday I was fastest in free practice session but unfortunately a transmission issue dashed my chances in Q1. But I was able to overtake many of my rivals on Saturday and my pace was similar to drivers fighting for podium. Sunday was better and I finished fifth. I wish to thank Campos Racing for their effort and I’m sure we will move a step closer to the podium at Spa-Francorchamps.”

Lukas Dunner (Drivex): “Tough weekend at Paul Ricard but I learned a lot. I can’t wait to get back behind the wheel in a month time at one of the greatest tracks in the world: Spa-Francorchamps!”

Aldo Festante (RP Motorsport): “The balance of the week was quite positive. I achieved a double podium finish in the Rookie class and it proves our potential. We are ready to keep battling at Spa-Francorchamps”

Michaël Benyahia (RP Motorsport): “It was a weekend with mixed feelings. My Q1 result was positive but I was forced to retire due to suspension damage. Sunday was much better as I was able to gain several places after a less positive qualifying session. I took second place in the Rookie class and it was a morale booster for the remaining races of the season.”

Calan Williams (Fortec): “After the misfortune of Saturday, we made good progress on Sunday with my race craft and I am learning a huge amount from Mick, Tom and the team. All of the team have worked huge hours over this event. They are an extremely professional team and I’m very fortunate to have the opportunity to drive for them. Thanks to everyone who has followed me again and for all the messages of support. Looking forward to Round 3 at the iconic Spa-Francorchamps!”

Raúl Guzmán (Fortec): “Gutted, our pace was mega and we were around P2 on Thursday and Friday. We deserved much more this weekend... On Saturday and Sunday we were limited by engine issues. Big thanks to the Fortec squad for the hard work! It was a pleasure to be here this weekend!
