It was a very closely-fought (13 cars within one second) Qualifying 2 this morning at the Hungaroring, in perfect track conditions. Eventually, Allam Khodair, in the Drivex Mercedes shared with Marcelo Hahn, took pole in 1.42.316. The Brazilian fought intensively with Rik Breukers (Imperiale Lambo) in the decisive part of the session, to eventually beat the young Dutchman by 196 thousandths. “I am very happy for the team and simply love this track, with its fast and slow sections, and its up and downs”, said Allam.
Second row will be for Daniel Serra, in yesterday’s winning Luzich Ferrari, and for the Teo Martin BMW of Fran Rueda. In third row, Alessandro Pier Guidi (Luzich Ferrari) and Fernando Rees (Ombra Lambo).
Confirming the excellent morning of Brazilian drivers, Thiago Marques (Teo Martin BMW) took pole in Am, where the MS/HTP Mercedes suffered technical issues and the Olimp Audi of Stanislaw Jedlinski did not take the track. During the session there was a misunderstanding between the Lambos of Ramos and Liberati, which is being investigated by the stewards.
