Charlie Eastwood took his second pole of the year, at the wheel of the TF Sport Aston Martin this morning ahead of Race 2 at the Red Bull Ring. The Irishman stopped the clock at 1.27.579, beating by a only 3 thousandths of a second the Teo Martín McLaren of Henrique Chaves. “We struggled a bit yesterday on a track which is not easy at all, being on the side of a mountain, but today the car was simply perfect”, said Eastwood.
In second row will be local hero Christian Klien (JP Motorsport Mercedes) 0s360 behind and Vincent Abril in the Ferrari 488 by AF Corse APM Monaco, 0s411 from the pole. Four different brands are represented in the first two rows, while 7 cars finished within one second.
Seventh overall was the fastest car in Am, the Mercedes AKM Motorsport, with Alexey Nesov at the wheel. A revised BoP has been applied to the KTM X-BOW GTX Concept.
