GT Sport today announced a slight change in the 2023 calendar of the GT Cup Europe: for organizational reasons, the round initially scheduled at the Hungaroring on 17-18 June will be replaced by Portimão on 29-30 April.
This will allow GT Cup Europe contenders to start the season earlier and enjoy a new track, unanimously acclaimed by drivers. The event will also be the season-opener for the other GT Sport-promoted series, the International GT Open and the Euroformula Open (which are not affected by the change announced today and keep the Hungaroring in their respective calendars).
The GT Cup Europe is expected to see a further growth in 2023, with an expansion of its base of participants and brands/models represented, and the entry of new teams, some of which will compete in parallel in the International GT Open.
The 2023 calendar of the GT Cup Europe, based on 5 events, is confirmed as follows:
30 April: Autódromo do Algarve -Portimão (P)
28 May: Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps (B)
23 Jul: Circuit Paul Ricard (F)
24 Sep: Autodromo nazionale – Monza (I)
22 Oct: Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya
